Abstract: This presentation unpacks the meanings and usages of the term and concept ‘resilience’ in the context of smart cities and the German energy transition. It approaches ‘resilience‘ from usages in engineering and the social sciences and takes account of more recent attempts to bridge mitigation and adaptation policies in the face of climate change and related expected future transformations.
